Held in multiple locations the aim of the Nintendo Switch event was to attract new visitors to the participating centres and to promote the new Nintendo games console in time for Christmas. The event, which was free for shoppers to attend, drew on the runaway success of the Switch console which had already outsold the company’s previous console in less than a year.

Shoppers were given the chance to try out the Switch console as well as a number of the consoles’ most popular games including: Mario Tennis Aces, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2, and 1-2-Switch.

The Nintendo Switch event allowed shoppers to interact with the Nintendo brand before a key period of consumer spending. Games consoles are one of the most popular Christmas presents. Therefore, by allowing customers a chance to try out the console and it’s most popular games Nintendo ensured they were fresh in people minds during this time.
