A Cut Above The Rest

Serpentine Green’s Barber Pod Pop Up is the first of its kind to open in the UK. As a commercialisation opportunity, it is a completely new concept in the male grooming industry built around convenience. The duo behind the pod wanted to take an old fashioned business and bring it into the modern age. An example of this being the team sending out text alerts so shoppers know when their barber is ready for them and offering late night appointments.

We worked with the pair to bring the pod to Serpentine Green after identifying the shopping centre as the ideal location for the concept. The selection was in part due to the fact that clients can enjoy free parking. But, it was also chosen because we felt the centre had the right demographic and footfall.


Since opening, the pod has welcomed on average 1000 customers a month and has cemented itself as an integral part of the Serpentine Green offer. The pod also offers training programmes for aspiring barbers, sponsors local football teams and has a number of The Barber Pod branded male grooming products clients can purchase.

In 2019 we won the Highly Commended Mall Retail Opal Award for our commercialisation work on The Barber Pod.
